We had family from Washington State visit us Thursday through Saturday last week. They'd never been to the east coast and probably never will again so we decided to head up to Boston for the day.
We headed up mid-morning and took a trolley tour around the city. Out of the 16 stops you can get out at we stopped at CHEERS (the original) for a beer and The Bar Under The Bleachers at Fenway Park (another beer).
As I was standing waiting for the trolley to come by and pick us up, I looked up and was struck with an overwhelming sense of gratefulness. Grateful to be able to say "no work today!". Grateful for the money to take the day off. Grateful for family to spend time with. Grateful for an adult son that enjoys spending time with us. It was a good good day.

It doesn't take much does it? Just a moment. A pause really, to realize how much good is in our lives.
