What's Up?!

Wow! September 10, 2010 was the last post I wrote?? Where does the time go?

My blogger friend Katherine Thomas sent me a comment on my last post to ask when I was going to start writing again. Well, Katherine this is your lucky day!

Here's a quick rundown of the year and I promise I'll elaborate on some of them over time:

1) Went to Playa del Carmen Mexico with my sister and her family to stay at a Mayan Palace resort in January;
2) Came home to snow. and more snow. and more snow. and shoveling. and cold. and shoveling our roof at the lake. Fun times. Fun times;
3) Had a routine pre-op exam for a female issue surgery turn into a nightmare when my EKG was "different" than the one I had in 2006. I was diagnosed with a Left Bundle Branch Blockage. Great - one illness I CAN'T control;

4) Had above referenced surgery, only to have to go and have the same thing done again next week (uterine polyps);

5) My son turned 21. Now that he can "legally" drink I don't worry as much (silly isn't it?);
6) Colonoscopy - great! Love the prep (seriously!), watched the whole thing. Perfectly healthy;

7) The week after I have surgery, my husband is having surgery for a Nerve Sheath Tumor by his knee. 99.9% are benign, outpatient surgery. Our fingers will be crossed;

8) After freakish snow and freakish rain in the spring, the summer turned into the most incredible weather ever. We spent every weekend at the lake. Swimming at 11:00 at night some weekends. Fabulous;
9) Lived through the hurricane and the freak Halloween snow storm without a flicker of lights - Thank you Wallingford Electric Division!;

10) Continue to visit with my buddy Rocco once a week. He's playing the trumpet this year (I arranged the rental so he could do it). He's in 4th grade and having a difficult time socially and emotionally. He's a fairly intelligent kid but he just can't deal with authority as in, stop talking NOW, not when you decide you've said enough. I worry for him also as he gets older at home - there's alot that's passing him by now.
11) Great Thanksgiving, heading to NYC with the husband for 2 days and 2 nights tomorrow, looking forward to some parties after we get home, family, friends and then heading to Maine to spend the week with my sister (of Mexico trip) and her family for the holiday week.

And as I looked through the "Last 12 Months" file of pictures I realized there is so so much more to share!

Thanks for reading - and I hope you'll stick around!
